First my uncle saw the nine point chasing a doe, then I saw him chasing the doe in between me and my cousin. He went over the hill towards my cousin Chase, he made a perfect free handed heart shot and watched the buck go down. Chase and my uncle (his dad) went to get the Ranger and drove it in to load the buck. While doing that they spooked the 8 point and he came right towards me. Once he stopped I took the shot, he mule kicked and took off. The buck ran towards the neighbor’s property and they saw it go down. They sent a text saying they found the buck and were nice enough to drag it up to the road for me. Opening day is always a magical day but it’s even better when you can double up on two bucks with your family and work together with your neighbors!
