I’ve had this deer on camera throughout season but all nocturnal movement. With a little snow and cooler temps conditions were right. Finally at 11am, I get glimpse of a buck in the distance but disappears into thick brush and didn’t appear to be coming my way. I Let out 2 grunts and 2 minutes later he reappears and starts slowly walking my way. Gets within 100 yards and again starts walking down a trail away from me. I let out another grunt and 2 snort wheezes, he looks and continues on but at one point starts stepping sideways. I thought he was for sure leaving but what the heck he clearly heard me and was reacting. At that point another small buck steps out of that thicket, and shortly after the buck I shot steps out. After some passive aggression I get the full picture- 2 shooters and 1 smaller buck have crossed paths and best case is unfolding, all 3 slowly start working my way. At this point I told myself I’ll take the first shot at either of the shooters but really wanted the taller nicer rack. Long story short he made it to 28 yards and I sealed the deal. What a great hunt and awesome feeling to tag a buck I’ve been chasing. Thaaaank you!
