Saw the buck walking behind trees. Thought it was an 8 because i only saw the one side. I was sitting waiting for him to come out to get a shot. Couple minutes later he walked out to a scrape they had made and he wasnt stopping so i made a grunt noise and he stopped and I took my shot. 35 yard shot my furthest shot yet. I watched him take off crashing through the woods. I had a good feeling that i got him because i didnt hear anymore crashing. I called my dad right away and he said stay tight till he got there. As i waited for him i sat in the stand with my adrenaline rushing. When my father arrived we went to the spot I hit the deer and there was blood immediately. Following the trail my dad had a good feeling he was dead for all the blood there was. Walked 20 yards from the kill shot and there the buck was laying. The relief of finding him was so great. I was beyond pumped. My dad lifted him up only to find he was the buck with the broke off tine only making him a 7. Big bodied buck and good size. Couldnt be happier to share that moment with my father right there!
