After several years of hunting and harvesting doe’s my 14yr old daughter Brooklyn took a little coaxing to get out of bed on a freezing cold Michigan November morning. But like the trooper she is, she got up and got dressed like she had so many times before to go hunting with her dad. With not much happening the 1st hour of daylight she finally caught some movement about a 100yds out. For all the hours spent on the shooting bench I had no doubt as to the bucks fate when she slipped the 7mm Weatherby out of the window. After s short wait (that seemed like a eternity) we walked to where the buck had been standing and as she tracked the blood I scanned the woods for that tell tale “brown hump”. Sure enough he only made it about 20yds into the brush before expiring. As the whole camp congratulated her on her buck I couldn’t help but realize how blessed I am to have her as my daughter! Congrats Brooklyn!
