Just climbed down and was moving cameras at another property when my spypoint alerted me. Didn’t open it the first time then it pinged again and several more times which got my curiosity so I opened up my spypoint app and it was grandad! He disappeared a week before youth hunt and hadn’t seen any sign of him since! He was back and working my mock scrape! Instantly took off running through the briars n thicket to the truck. Studying the pictures on the way home I was certain it was him! Ran in and told the gf grandad was back acting like a complete crazy and said I’d be back at dark that I had to try I just had to give it a shot. Hopped back in the truck and just held er to the wood the whole way! I had an idea of where I thought he was gonna be or where he was headed to. The wind was perfect and kinda blowing a bit kind of perfect conditions for a stalk but I decided to take the long way around and to try n sneak into my stand. Got into my stand and all set it had been one hour and 20 minutes since he was on camera working my mock scrape. Pulled the grunt call out and just hammered it as loud as I could standing there 20ft up I knew I was too late I knew I had missed my opportunity that morning when all of a sudden I heard a stick break. A doe walked out 20 yards behind me walking towards me she stops turns her head and just stares back and that’s when I knew that something magical was about to happen! She started to run off and he came right out after her I let out a yell to stop him and let er fly! Was in my stand maybe 5 minutes total but it felt like forever!! It had been a rough season up to this point with A LOT of hours on stand passing on everything waiting on something mature to make a mistake. It just never ever happens like that and I’m very thankful and completely blessed!! First time ever getting one of my target bucks and my biggest one to date!! Spypoint for the W!!!!
