I knew I had a few nice ones in the area and on cam, and then everything worked out this morning. Wind was perfect, and I sat in a stand where I knew I might get some action. A doe showed up right at light and hung out under my stand. Then a few minutes later a doe and fawn also came out. Their body language all changed at once, and a few minutes later this guy appeared. He walked straight under my stand and I smoked him at 20 yards…or so I thought. An initial track lead me on a 150 yard blood trail and then I bumped him. I back out and called a dog, and that night we went out and found him about another 400 yards away in a swamp. Buck of a lifetime!
