I walked into the private land farm to hunt at 2:30 pm but something in my gut just didn’t feel right about my setup. So I bailed on the property and headed to some public land. On the way in at 4:15pm I noticed a popular sappling had recently been tore up and a big bed was next to it. That was all I needed to set up there. Saw another 5 doe at this new location and both groups had winded me at about 50 yards and spooked. I was losing daylight and confidence and just about to start packing it in for the evening when this 3.5 year old 7 pt cruised in. It happened so quickly I wasn’t able to count tines or judge the buck I just saw his horns and big body. I let the arrow rip after a good 2 minute observation. 26.5 yard quartering away single lung shot. After a 150- 200 yard.
