After emergency back surgery September. 7th I wasn’t sure I’d get to hunt this year, let alone recover enough to get there on my own two God given feet with no assistive devices! And early Saturday morning I was blessed with this nice 8 point! He came in alone before day light, I could hear him but not see him or if it even was a buck or doe. But he hung around for over an hour, the whole time being taunted by a doe! She would run in and run out… at least 10 times! I was finally able to see through my bino’s that it was an 8 point buck, so I readied my rifle, and waited and waited and WAITED because his hind end was facing me almost the entire hour or so! Finally the last time she ran down the hill at him, he caught her scent! He grunted and FINALLY turned a quarter to his right, took a step to start chasing her up that hill, and I let my 30-30 sing! He made it about 30 yards! And he was piled up with one hoof over his head!
