First time ever hunting public land, we up to this spot blind for the first time ever at a last resort since our other options were full of hunters. Walk in to the spot that looked like a good funnel. Heard bucks fighting in the distance as I hung my first stick. Got set up in my saddle 30 minutes before light and knocked my arrow. Half hour into legal light, we hear loud walking to our right. As we glassed over the spot we spotted this 8 point and a smaller 6 point over in some pines fighting. As they started to walk the opposite way of my tree I faced the other way and snort wheezed with my mouth, the bucks instantly look my way and then start fighting. As they fought I let out another wheeze and in they came. Walked perfectly into 37 yards as I squeezed off a shot into his lungs and main artery, the rest is history. I will never forget this moment and am glad to spend it with the people I love the most!
