My husband & I shot a doe a piece 15 minutes apart opening weekend. His at 80 yards broadside heading south with his custom 7mm Rem Mag rifle and mine at 160 yards broadside heading north with my custom 6mm BR rifle.
2 Does turned into;
Chili – 7 quarts, 3 pints
Stew – 17 quarts, 8 pints
Burger – 22 pints, 12 half pints
Stock – 13 quarts
Roasts – 4
Tenderloin & Steaks – 8 packs
Tallow – 2 quarts, 1 pint
Whipped Tallow Cream – 7 quarter pints
Whipped Tallow Pain Cream – 4 half pints
A total of 80 pounds of meat processed & 5 pounds of rendered tallow!
All of the potatoes, carrots and tomatoes for each recipe were harvested from our garden as well as all the herbs for seasoning. The onions and garlic were locally sourced.
