Was watching a doe walk over a ridge coming towards me. She was moving pretty fast so I started to glass around to see what might be following her. Noticed something about 200 yards away in some dense pines. As it got closer I noticed the antlers. Pulled the gun up and tried to get him to stop but he was trying to get to the doe. So I took a shot while he was on the move. He dropped where he stood. Then he started to kick and stand up on his front legs, he manages to go about 5 yards then lay down in some ferns. So I got out of the tree to go put him out of his misery. When I got about 10 yards from where he was laying down he picked his head up and then popped up on all 4 and took off. I brought the gun up and pulled the hammer back and shot as he was running away hoping over some fallen tree branches and he dropped for the second time and that’s where he expired.
