Having a banner year.
Not a big turkey hunter, only my 2nd tom. Bought a tag so that I could take out a youth hunter who showed interest. The youngster called in two toms and a hen with a slate call around 5 o’clock on opening day. They snuck up silently to investigate. We tried for the double, unfortunately he missed his target with the shakes. Still had fun.
Pretty happy with the quality of this beautiful bird. 23 lb live weight. 3x beards. Long sharp curved spurs. Got my best buck in rifle season this year as well. 119 and 3/8” 8 pointer. Super lucky.
