It was incredibly hot that day and I had planned to head out later than we would normally. My wife said, “just go out now since you have the time”. So we headed out and instead of sitting in our pop up blind, I asked Claire if she wanted to gamble and try a new spot. She said, “let’s gamble!”, so we decided to sneak into a different area of the property and sit on the ground. After a long slow walk, we found a good spot and settled in. Within ten minutes a small buck walked within six yards of us, she wanted to pass on that buck, which turned out to be the right decision. Because the small buck was being followed by this big boy. Claire made a perfect shot and the deer ran about 40 yards before piling up. Great memories.
