This buck showed up about a week prior. On the 23rd I had him at 40 yards but with the big winds I couldn’t get him to stop in a clear lane. He moved through and eventually followed a doe down a ravine. A couple days later I got in the same tree but facing a different direction. I first spotted him around 4:57 and he walked right under my tree before I could even get my bow down. Another younger buck was off in the distance and he took his attention off of everything else and walked right out to broadside at 25 yards. Fired the shot at 5:01, one of the shorter sits I’ve ever had.
Huge shoutout to Calvin and Scout with scent hunter tracking. After inspection of the arrow and hit site I didn’t exactly love what I saw. I called Calvin and based on pictures and an explanation he recommended waiting until the next morning. We went out at 9 the next morning and he was dead 150 or so yards from the shot. My best archery buck and 2nd biggest so far!
