My brother and I went out for the evening. He has never scouted the area so I set him up in the tree I was going to hunt. This led me to scout my way back further into the property to a pinch filled with oaks and a freshly worked scrape. At 5:20 the deer came in on the trail leading right to the scrape leaving me a small shooting window, not ideal. Followed up with a less then ideal shot. After 2 hours we began to track with good blood to start but began to diminish. At the last pile of blood where he bedded we lost blood. Two small specks where going off in the direction of the pond and that’s where we found him a half mile later. First compound bow buck after hunting for 3 years.
