Plan was to take my son out with his crossbow but he decided to sleep in. I chose a stand that was right for the wind that day and made it in quietly. Soon as the sun came up I had 2 does walk by and shortly after 4 small bucks came in on the same path. Two of those bucks began sparring and then this guy comes trotting in at 40 yards looking for what was making the commotion. I stopped him and made my shot but he ducked hard and I wasnt positive on where I hit him and there was no blood at shot location so I backed out and came back with my brother that afternoon only to find him 60 yards from where I shot him, perfect heart shot and I couldnt be happier.
