We hit the woods a little behind schedule but hurried to the stand to get setup right before daylight. As soon as we were setup with the rifle in the tripod, a doe walked out into the field. After the doe worked her way out of the field, a big 8 point and 12 point made their appearance. Colton chose the 12 point to be his first buck and let the Mossberg Patriot .243 bark. Then it was all smiles and pictures after that. Couldn’t have wrote a better script myself. Just happened to be Colton’s 7th birthday as well. It was an awesome morning and birthday we won’t forget!
