Got a picture of him on the 8th waited for the right wind to slip into the stand. The 12th rolled around and it was go time. As first light approached I could hear a buck tending a doe down in a bedding area. Daylight broke and around 7:30 I noticed a big bodied deer moving through the cedars skirting me at about 80 yards I slowly stood up bow in hand I made a few grunts as a last ditch effort to pull him in. A few minutes passed and chaos broke out in the bedding area out came a small 8 point with this buck right on its tail the small buck ran below me and continued on as this buck stopped just outside the bedding area observing every inch of the landscape. I felt it was the perfect opportunity to snort/wheeze I did just that and here he came on a string. Stopped him at 20 yards and the rest was history. Tagged out before rifle season has never felt so good! Thankful for every moment spent chasing these animals in god’s creation.
