My dad doesn’t use Instagram, but he shot this buck 4 days after the rest of us left camp. The pictures aren’t the best since he did it all by himself, but definitely his largest buck to date. Here’s his text he sent over:
And I mean, running hard. I couldn’t believe how fast he was on top of me. I knew when she flew by me what was going on, so I grab my piece and immediately stood up and there he be. It was raining, so my scope was foggy. I shot, and he turned and ran the other way. No fur, no blood, And he looked like he wasn’t even injured. I just about cried. I swept out 200 yards, came back, swept out again 200 yards And came back. Was going to give up, but I kept thinking that was there was no possible way I missed him because he was all that was in my scope. So I decided to do one more sweep, but this time. go a little bit to the right. I literally spotted the rack before the body 30 yards to my left. I did a fist pump for the camera, and high five’d my imaginary friend.
