I’ve been hunting on and off over half my life but never truly committed due to various reasons. Now that I’m 32, I finally got it done and landed a nice buck (my first ever). Opening morning 3 does came out of the woods behind me and while I was trying to position myself to get a good look/shot at one of them this buck walked out in front of me and stopped about 35 yards, which is when I took my shot. He should have been a 9 point but this guy was such a scrapper and fighter he broke a tine off and is a nice 8 point. His battle scars/wounds were proof that he was a fighter. My only regret is not getting a better picture of me with him. Finally getting my first buck made for a awesome and memorable opening day!
