Went back and forth on what stand to hunt this morning. Props to my cousin for suggesting the stand, because it was the right call! Had a couple smaller bucks cruising around after does, and had a young doe come out of the swamp to my east. She ended up at about 35 yards to my right , so I got ready in case a buck was on her tail. This buck came in just after from the side, head down, heading her way. She spooked off, and he headed out into a hayfield where he stopped at 25 yards, perfect broadside. Shot landed lower than expected but still got the heart, didn’t go more than 50. Huge thanks to my cousin and his family for the chance to hunt!!
