All I saw through the trees withy binoculars were antlers. I grabbed my good old lever action 30-30 and aimed right at him as he stepped into the edge of the trail. When I pulled the trigger all I heard was “click”…omg, I didn’t turn off the safety. Thankfully he didn’t take off and I had another chance. I quickly pulled the hammer back, turned off the safety, and pulled the trigger!! Biggest buck I’ve harvested to date!!
