They have been clear cutting my woods for a few weeks now and I haven’t seen any turkeys around. I went out opening morning with my son just hoping to maybe see one. This guy gobbled about 250 yards away. I thought it was a long shot but waited for him to fly down and I called a few time’s, he immediately gobbled and started running my way. He cut across the field about 80 yards out and headed into my woods. Once I could not see him any I did a few cuts on my slate call and here he came. Put on a show closing the distance. Shot him at 20 yards. 870 express 20 gauge eats again.
