Four days of bad wind, and just trying our best to not put pressure on this stand, it switched, out of the Southwest and got COLD. Climbed into the stand late after work….. feeling rushed, unscented, unprepared, doubtful but just needed some tree time. (That’s when it happens) Two does popped out of a wood lot into a field at 6:45 just 15 minutes after he stepped out. I Forgot my binos in the truck, along with my range finder….. and I still knew I wanted to shoot him.. “he’s wide” I said to myself, He Was curious but nothing serious looking at that time with the does. Just kind of watching there moves subconsciously. A half hour goes by and he left moseying around with the does and headed straight towards me. I tried my best to just stay calm, and go through the motions.. he came to check a mock scrape we had made earlier in the year that he had just been tearing up. The rest is history. I set my pin at what I thought was 30 and let one fly. He bucked up and went 60 yards before piling up into a thicket. Full pass through double lung with a muzzy. I am blessed to harvest a great 10 point with my Prime Logic
