The hunt and recovery of this deer will be one I’ll never forget. After watching him for 30 minutes in the oat field he finally came in to 25 yards where I thought I made a good shot. After the way he walked off I was uneasy and gave him 4 hours to expire before dad and I went in to get him..wasn’t that easy..after 600 yards and finally jumping him at 2:00 am we backed out. Getting 1 1/2 hours of sleep then going to work. After, I assembled a team of the best trackers this side of the Mississippi and went back in about 3:00 pm. After almost 1,000 total yards I finally found him on the edge of a fence row. With help of the good lord, good friends and a dad who never quits, I will be able to rest easy tonight.
