My dad and I were after this deer last year after noticing he had a real bad broken foot. We called this deer Cane. Once we got pics of him this September this is the only deer on the property I wanted to take. Thursday October 26th I was suppose to leave to Ohio for the month to help people find their lost deer with my thermal drone but I extended my air bnb move in by just 1 day to hunt this deer. I never saw him that day and I contemplated moving the next day (Friday) but that night at midnight I looked at my phone and he was on a scrape. I had a good idea where he was bedding. I chose to stay that evening on Friday to hunt him despite the 70 degree weather and winds. I took my mobile stand and set up on the scrape with the wind in my favor and he was the only deer to show up. He gave me a perfect broadside shot at 17 yards and I shot him right through his heart! The timing couldn’t have been any better and I still can’t believe it happened.
