First time sitting in friends ladder stand, seen him come across bean field @500 yes. Got to 25 yes I had a perfect shot had him in scope, took a breath to relax and exhaled when I did scope fogged up and I couldn’t see him.i wiped scope with thumb he made a right turn ,the only lane I had was about foot and a half hole through limbs and leaves,so I look through scope and let it fly. It sounded like a bat against a tree ,he bucked twiceand ran . I waited an hour and me and a friend spent 2 and a half hours to track blood 100 yds( not much but small drops),even though we found bolt and it was covered in blood ,a complete pass through
Called a deer tracker Ken Jordan and his dog Bentley, he came about 6 hours later after being on another track. After about hour an half to two hours we found him, under some thickets and underbrush.
Thank you Ken and Bentley for such a good job well done.
Biggest buck I had ever shot after hunting for 44 years . Being 56 this is a once in a lifetime buck.
