I hunted this buck for most of bow season but never got an opportunity to take him. Then I stopped seeing him and assumed he got killed. I began hunting other areas because I thought he was gone. I hadn’t planned on hunting the stand I did that day but I found a giant scrape that was very fresh while out scouting. The hunt was very slow. I had only seen one deer, a fawn that was bedded behind me. With just a few minutes of light left I saw a big deer step out into the open. He worked his way to within 45 yards and offered a broadside shot. I made a good shot, bringing the deer down after only taking a few steps
