We got to the blind around 4pm not 5 minutes later a 6 point in velvet briefly showed himself, though out of range and disappearing as quick as he came we knew we were in for a good hunt! For the next hour we watched as does filtered through. The next bucks we saw were both spikes one in velvet one hard horned, not long after a coyote cleared the field. It didn’t take the does long to make their way back to the beans and at 7:52 I caught a glance of a buck, this was the kind of buck I was after! He came into the field at a good clip but we were able to stop him at 110 yards, with a squeeze of the trigger I let the savage 220 rip! We quickly looked back at the footage and confirmed the hit was lethal, only to look up and see an awesome 10 standing near the spot I had just shot my buck, bittersweet! We waited for nightfall to start the track upon arriving at the shot I quickly noticed blood and was off trailing. 60 yards in I find my buck!!! My first buck!
