May not be the biggest deer you’ve ever seen but I haven’t shot a deer in two years and trying to top a fourteen point is what I’m finding to be almost impossible. This deer was out in a field close to dark. I knew two things. The neighbors had shot at it and either wounded it or they missed it because it was jogging and the second thing I knew was it had antlers above its ears which was new to me this year. Although it was dark I got out of my blind to cut it off and lo and behold it came right to me. Shot it once after calming myself a little while kneeling and all it took was one shot at 130 yards. That was the first time I’d ever experienced buck fever. Made a spine/lung hit to drop it on the spot at Hopefully many more quick painless shots to come. Also my first kill with my new .450 I got as a graduation gift. Thanks to my dad for accidentally taking cool pictures!
