At 5:38pm my phone rang while I was at my house and it was my 82 year old father. When I had answered the phone and he started talking there was a trembling sound to his voice and I immediately thought something bad had happened to a family member. After a few seconds into the call, he stated that he had shot a big boy and needed my help. Told me it is probably his biggest, all around biggest, buck of his hunting career. So I called a buddy of mine for help, loaded the four wheeler up onto the trailer and made my way over to there farm. We met up with him, which is had been waiting for us out in his hunting spot for 2 hrs, and we started the fast and easy recovery. 50 yard shot with the ruger 450 and Mr. BOB only made it another 40 yard before expiring.
boy o boy I think this is the heaviest body and rack I’ve ever had the privilege of putting my hands on and these pictures don’t do that buck justice.
We had this buck on our cameras all year long. And this is one hunting memory for the books.
I hope at age 82 I’m still able to pursue one of my passion like my old man is still doing
