No birds were gobbling off the roost and my buddy and dad were a little discouraged but it felt like one of those morning i had a good feeling we went and set up on a field edge we had seen and heard birds in the prior morning after about 30 min of waiting we heard a bird gobble so far away you thought you were hearing things they started hammering and I started calling, eventually they got to 250-300 yards and wouldn’t budge so I decided to get up and start walking away we’ll calling I walked back about 100 yards from my dad the shooter and my buddy Ethan I could hear them instantly start getting closer when I moved back soon enough by the sound of there gobble I knew they were close to them and right after that I heard the gun shot he smoked him after they beat up the decoy at 20 yards when I got up to them they said he had a pretty good paint brush and I went to look and there was 6 beards to say the least a super fun hunt and it’s the highest scoring bird in Michigan now!
