Made a terrible shot back of the rib cage. Waited until just before dark to get down out of my stand and check for blood. My arrow made a complete pass through and the broad head was stuck in the dirt. Lots of blood on arrow but gut material also present which confirmed I had hit him too far back. Almost no blood on ground where I shot him and no blood trail at all. Decided to back out and call in a track dog. Chad Sinicki with Sinicki’s Whitetail Trackers came out the next morning with his track dog and put on the track. Fifteen minutes and 500 yards later we recovered the buck.
