My son, 11-years old, and I waited on my property for two hours without seeing anything. We were about to walk in, but three doe came in. I told him we needed to hang tight because there would for sure be a buck. About five minutes later this buck, which had been on my cameras in the middle of the night for weeks, came in with a good 8-pointer trailing him. As he was going after the doe, I grunted at him, stopping him in his tracks 28 yards to the left of our tree stand. As my son was shaking, he took a deep breath, put the scope on the buck, and took the shot. We tracked him no more than 75 yards. This was only my son’s second deer.
