My son, 10 years-old, shot his very first deer with a crossbow at 8:30 in the morning on our property. The deer came in after a doe, and I grunted him over to us for a 35 yard shot. After waiting a while, we started tracking him. We bumped him about 100 yards away from the blind. We came back out later in the day to track some more, but lost his blood trail and never found him. A few hours later, a neighbor found the buck on his trail about 200 yards from the last drop of blood. My son was extremely excited, and I’m a proud dad.
