Tagged a 9 opening day of bow season. Been hunting hard all season. Had 3 different bucks I was chasing and wasn’t given the opportunity on any of them. I haven’t put much time into my other property that I usually hunt but put a camera up a week ago and wasn’t a ton of a sign of any decent bucks. With no high hopes opening morning of rifle I got in my blind and shortly after first light I had some does moving and a smaller buck. Watched him over head into a valley and lost sight on him. 5 minutes later saw a deer at the far edge of the field and put my scope on it thinking it was the small buck I had just passed. When he picked his head up I realized it was a different deer. Saw the rack and he gave me a good shot around 280 yards and the .270 did what it needed to. My best. Buck to date and tagged out for 2023.
