On 11/16/24 I was frustrated with not seeing anything so I decided to climb down early around 10:30 a.m. Just as i lowered my rifle to the ground about 20 feet below me, this guy came in fully rutting in a doe. He never saw me and as I got my rifle about halfway up, he ran underneath my tree and stopped about 8 yards in front me. All I could do was hold my rifle on a string and watch as he grunted and stomped for the doe. He finally ran off but I was certain he never knew I was there.
The following morning, at about 8:30 a.m. I saw three different sets of bucks chasing does in about 25 minutes. This guy then appeared across a ravine from me about 70 yards away. I took the shot and doubled lunged him.
The longest shot I’ve ever taken on the biggest deer I have ever seen on this ravine I’ve been hunting since I was 14 years old.
