This is my first buck. I’ve been hunting 20 years and it just never happened for me but that all changed yesterday at around 10:10 am. I was still hunting an old logging road, it was dead calm and absolutely silent. At around 10:05 I sat on a small mound just to rest my knee. Suddenly I heard this guy coming in from behind me up the ridge he turned and headed right down the hill to cross the trail and stopped broadside at 80 yards. I shot and he ran up the hill on the other side made it about 60 yards and dropped. Double lung and top of the heart shot. Couldn’t have been more perfect got him back to the cabin and ate Thanksgiving dinner with the family. I definitely had a lot to be thankful for this year.
