Been watching a 8 point all season and even had a shot at him but passed it up due to the heat wave we had. Hadn’t seen him since and just figured if I put my time in he’d come back. Today at 1450 in walked a 4 followed by a six and then he walked in, or so I thought. I waited for the shot all of 10 minutes or better then finally it was game on. My initial that’s were it wasn’t a great shot. It looked a little low and the bolt didn’t go through. I called in a couple of buddies to help track and after 45 min we started the tracking. There wasn’t a lot of blood and I found half of the bolt the lumenok somehow had shut off so now I’m even more skeptical that I’ll find him. About 15 min of tracking and we heard some crashing about 20 yards away or so. The decision was to back out and wait another hour. It was the right choice as when we went back and picked up where we left off it wasn’t much further when we found him and he want the 8 I was hoping for instead he was a 9 that I had never seen before.
