Hunting with my 14 yo Daugher on opening day yielded my first 8 pointer in my 35th year of hunting. Not wanting to be the guy who abandoned his hunting buddies, stayed for the weekend be supportive. After sitting Saturday and all day Sunday the 17th seeing only one fawn, I began to prepare to leave the woods and return home for the wok week. As I waited for the cover of night I decided to use a doe Bleat to see how effective it could be. I waited 15 minutes and followed it with a grunt out the back of the blind. After standing up for some stretching(bladder relief) I returned to my chair and there he stood! After a quick scan I saw enough of a rack (a small glimmer) and decided to put him in the scope. A deep breath and a bit more of his rack through the scope and “BANG”, he dropped in his tracks!
