10 year old Jayce Leighton took his first black bear on the second day of the season. We were sitting in a pop up blind and he was using a Savage 350 legend on public land in the Keweenaw peninsula. The day before season opened this bear tore down the blind and we had to prop it up with broken poles to hunt out of it. On the second day Jayce made a great shot and had his bear!
