First deer! I saw a four point first thing in the morning. After having lunch at camp, I went back out. I was sitting down in the blind by 230ish. I first saw this buck out to the west of me. He was looking and careful, staying well concealed. I was counting the points – I didnt want to shoot that 4 pointer I had seen. I kept counting and it looked like 6. But, I didnt have much of a clear shot at all. I could only see from the neck up. He eventually went back into the woods, travelling east-northeast. He then emerged to the North of me. I kept looking at that rack making sure I was seeing those 3 on a side. I had a good clear shot, broadside, and I took it. He fell down like a sack of potatoes. 1 shot. 1 kill. I am so happy.
I ended up getting 62lbs of meat! I was so glad to hunt with my Uncle Gordon at his camp. I have been trying to make it to camp and finally did after all of these years!
