Watched him running a doe with her two yearlings, for about an hour. Tried most styles of grunts to get him off her, but he wasn’t leaving them alone. Time had passed, with no sight of them, until he poked his head out at 70yds in the thick. He moseyed away again, out of sight. Sad i might have missed my chance, i resorted to a breeding grunt, quickly followed by some semi-violent rattling. Out he came, like a dog on a leash. Gave it up broadside at 60 yards or so and the Remington muzzleloader did the trick.
