I ALMOST DIDN’T GO OUT! I got done working around the farm later than I had hoped so I deeply considered not going out. We were leaving to head out of town the following day, so I knew this would be one of my last opportunities to hunt for a while. I got out to my blind around 4:30pm and jumped 2 deer on my way out. After only seeing a few fawns and a possum, this guy stepped out of the swamp about 5 minutes before shooting hours ended. I had a small window I needed him to stop in. He walked right to that window and when I stopped him he was perfectly broadside! Even with a nice heart shot, he still ran 50 yards or so.

The best part was having my son and brother-in-law there to get excited with and to help pull him out of the swamp!
