This was Joel’s first time deer hunting. He and his dad, Chris, scouted public land that morning, found a scrape with some rubs nearby, and decided to drop a pop up blind. At 6:45 that evening, this buck came out about 250 yards across a clear cut. After a few minutes, the buck ran directly across the clear cut at them and stopped about 30 yards after noticing the blind. He turned and ran, and Chris bleated three times at the buck, finally getting him to turn to look. Joel took the shot, and the rest is history.
