On October 3rd, I sat in one of our observation stands. That night once the rain slowed down, I saw the biggest buck of my life feeding out in the beans. We’re guessing he will be right around 160” as an 11pt. On the 5th, the wind was right for me to move towards where I saw the big boy come out. The wind was out of the SW and I expected him to come out into the beans to the south of me. He never showed up but this beautiful 8pt did and actually came from the north of me! He came to about 20 yards and got down wind and stood there for a good 2-3 minutes trying to figure out what he could smell. Im a true believer in ScentLok and was surprised at how long a 3 year old buck just stood downwind of me. He trotted off back the way he came. I ended up seeing the giant come out about 150 yards to the east of me! Next night on the 6th, I was back in the same spot trying to see if I couldn’t arrow the monster. Right as it hit 725pm, the 8pt came out to the south of me and was feeding in the beans right to me! I honestly couldn’t believe it. He must not have been too spooked from winding me the night before. I’m extremely OCD about my scent control and it paid off. He came to 25 yards, slightly quartering to me. I dialed my HHA in and put the pin on his front shoulder and sent it! Broke the shoulder, heart, one lung and liver. He ended up going about 200 yards before he hit the dirt! My best 8pt to date! The hunt continues for the giant!
