Hunted for 6 days straight without seeing much for horns before we crossed paths. I was starting to think the wolves had pushed all the deer out or they were heading to winter grounds already. On my last day to hunt this season I decided to sit sun up to sun down and was posted in some young hemlocks and watched an opening in a swampy area. He came thru trotting at around 1 and I whistled at him to stop. One shot with the 3006 at 77 yards and he went 50 yards before crashing into a frozen slough. I also had success earlier in the year bow hunting, so I ended up tagging out. I am very fortunate for the time I got to spend in the woods this year and very thankful for the U.P woods providing venison for my family.
