My father had previously seen this deer on the property in the later weeks of October while bow hunting. He had an opportunity to harvest this animal and took a shot at about 26 yards. In flight, the arrow struck a limb and deflected upwards and struck the deer in the tines almost cleaving off his right hand side G2 at its base. (We suspect he broke the tine off the rest of the way while rubbing in the coming weeks) The morning of the 16th I was in a ground blind when the same deer my father had narrowly “missed” stepped into a clearing following a few does. He presented a broadside shot at about 125 yards which I took with my Bergera. The rest was all hand shakes and grip and grins with good friends and family.
