First morning out for rifle season at our property. Seen just a few small does and fork horn. Around 8:10 I watched the fork horn walk off into the swamp and I decided to hit my doe bleat can a couple times. I seen movement back in the balsam firs 80yards from my blind thinking it was just the fork horn coming back around so I picked up my binos to take a look and seen this guy on a on a trot directly at me. When he cleared the pines he stopped and was looking around for does. I only had a few seconds to get a shot off before he disappeared back into the swamp. Dropped him where he stood with the 30-06. Will never forget that hunt and seeing those horns coming in thru the pines. Absolute swamp donkey in full rut.
