Sitting in my stand in the cold wind, gusts in the 20’s – 30’s. Thought about using a gun for a doe, but I had a feeling I could use my second buck tag tonight, so I carried in my Crossbow. 5:15pm I see movement over the snow, at 40 yards, and it’s a buck. He starts walking towards my tree, verrry slowly. After what seemed like forever, he’s at 15 yards, facing me, brush in the way of his shoulder, and he’s looking up at me. After moving his head back and forth, he settled, and took another step, giving me a clear shot. He piled up 80 yards away. 2.5yr old 6 point. Thankful to God I could tag out, closing out the season with a bow kill on a tined buck this late in December was in my book a huge accomplishment.
